St. Michaels Sailing Charters Featured in the Star Democrat

We’re excited to share that St. Michaels Sailing Charters was recently featured in the Star Democrat following our official ribbon cutting celebration at our new home at the St. Michaels Harbour Inn & Marina.

The article highlights our journey as a family-owned business, our passion for introducing guests to the beauty of the Chesapeake Bay, and the exciting move to one of St. Michaels’ premier waterfront locations. Celebrating a New Chapter

On ribbon cutting day, we welcomed friends, family, local businesses, elected officials, members of the Talbot County Chamber of Commerce, and the St. Michaels community to celebrate our new harbor home.

Guests enjoyed touring both of our yachts:

  • Lady Patty, our beautifully restored 1935 wooden ketch rich in Chesapeake Bay history.
  • Epiphany, our spacious Leopard 44 sailing catamaran designed for comfortable adventures on the Bay.

Visitors explored the boats while enjoying champagne, delicious hors d’oeuvres from Royal Oak Catering, handcrafted spirits from LYON RUM, and live music along the waterfront. It was the perfect afternoon to celebrate the beginning of an exciting new chapter for our family business.

A Homecoming on the Harbor

For owners GM and Laura Bell, this move is especially meaningful. Years ago, GM spent summers working as first mate aboard the beloved Selina II, departing from this very harbor. Returning to the waterfront to build a business of their own feels like coming full circle.

Today, St. Michaels Sailing Charters offers a variety of unforgettable experiences on the Chesapeake Bay, including:

  • Private celebrations and family outings
  • Marriage proposals and intimate weddings
  • Wine, beer, and specialty tasting sails
  • ASA sailing instruction aboard Epiphany
